Our Story Managing the full-time care needs of a loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia is extremely difficult on caregivers, families and friends – especially when trying to handle it alone in the home. Recent studies show that the extreme stress a caregiver experiences while attempting to manage this disease on their own contributes to significant drops in mental, physical and emotional health and shortened life expectancy - for the CAREGIVER! |
Elizabeth Wright
Elizabeth lives in the Twin Cities and is the proprietor of her own luxury residential construction company. Elizabeth lost two family members to dementia over the past decade and today has a grandmother living with the disease. It was through her own first-hand experience and search for helpful options that Elizabeth discovered the great need for high-quality specialized care for this vulnerable population.
The more Elizabeth researched, the more she came to understand the limited scope of options available for families of a loved one going through the stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia – so she made it her personal responsibility to raise the standard of care across the country by creating an entirely new and unique model in the field.
A highly-experienced team of innovators in Senior Living was assembled in 2016, inspired and directed by Elizabeth’s desire to improve upon traditional care models, with a goal to fundamentally rethink the design and operational development of the Memory Care Community approach in the United States. The resulting outcome was The Moments – a care community which far exceeds a care level possible to provide at home, or offered by any traditional long-term senior care communities.
The Moments of Lakeville opened in December of 2017, and is the first of its kind 32-Suite specialized, exclusive Memory Care Community. The Moments’ culture was scientifically formulated to continually advance and provide an ever-evolving improvement in care and knowledge.
